Short-Term Running Goals:

In the next two years I'd like to drop 100 lbs and be able to finish a half marathon. My first goal is to finish a 5k in less than 40 minutes.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'd love to run the Portland Marathon with my sweetheart.

Personal:

    I'm in my mid thirties. Last summer I decided that I was going to take on the couch to 5k once my weight dropped below 250. I started walking and watching what I ate. When I hit 252 lbs I was delighted to find out that I was pregnant so my running plan was put on hold.

    About a month ago we welcomed a beautiful baby girl. As of right now I am sitting at 263 so I've got about 11 extra pounds to take off.. I've started walking again and I hope to start my running program in the very near future. In the mean time I'll be logging the miles I walk. Wish me luck!

I joined a gym today. I went out for a jog last night and I am so not ready to do that  yet. I need to drop some weight. Also, I really struggled with m y pace. 

 

I hopped on a treadmill today and walked two  miles at a  17.5 minute pace.  It was nice to go at a consistent pace. I also liked that I could easily check my heart rate without stopping.  I hooked up the ipod. I've not really listened to it since I stopped going to the track in Utah. It was nice.  The music brought back images of the view I used to see while walking around the track at the Catholic High School.  Utah sure is pretty.
